I just got back from the movie. I would have to say it was pretty decent. The story line was alot better then the last two.
Pants too tight, wheels so bright!

They never put a 430 in a Mustang and I would be real surprised if anyone would butcher a 429 cj for a project like that.
Odd's are it was a six cylinder or 289 car and even more likely a near wreck.

watched a progrum on the movie and they said that 3 of the stunt cars had 430's in them, but i know as well as any blue blooded ford fan that there is no 430.. a 429, a 390, a 289 and i think a 230 inline 6 were the ops... the stunt cars were set up for driftin but still pulled low 14s in the 1/4 so you know they were runnin a big block(even with mad wheel spin 2 second 60 foots a big block will pull its weight).FORDSVTPARTS wrote:focinite wrote:either way you look at it .............STUPID!!!!!! why pretend to have a huffed 6 when in all actuallity it had a 430( probly a 429cj...hmmmmm yummy) the origanal sport compact drifter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!![]()

Posted on the first page: http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/Fe ... eId=115632
they put 430's into all the stangs.
Inside Line ultimately tested three of the surviving Ford Mustangs the almost pristine car with the Nissan six and two equipped with 430-cubic-inch Ford Windsor V8s and four-speed "Toploader" manual transmissions. One of the V8 drift cars was clean and ready for show duty, while the other had been battered in every way, but ran strong.

I wqas going to say that it sounded like it could of been a stroked small block, which is a good idea since it woulkd be somewhat light and very powerful, you usually see like 427 listed as the maximum displacement for a stroked 351, must of been bored slightly too?
