Yup, I was wondering if the green healey was your dads. If you check out the pics taken at the event, there are a lot of photos of my Mini.

Also, the road surface wasn't bad for cars on street tires. My car had no problems with traction. I rode in the Lotus 11 too, and he had amazing grip.

Thanks for the link, what my dad had mentioned was that there was a fair bit of sand and debris on the course. He's used to a clean race track and his car is quite obviously on race rubber so it's also possible he wouldn't have had enough heat in the tires to get really good grip even on a clean course.

I had a better picture of a race prepped Fiat 500 Giardiniera, but somehow it was deleted off of my phone.
