Who needs a 32-valve engine when you have 32 cylinders?

There was a station wagon configured like that also. Called the "Wagonmaster". It was based on the Buick Skylark or the Olds Vista cruiser wagon . It had the row of windows in the roof. Can't remember whose ride it was but it was also 4 engined.---Bob

Um, Tommy Ivo.

I believe this is actually the original car but with a body added and different headers. Pretty sure the one running around in "original" form is a reproduction.

Those are Allison V-12 (model V-1710) aircraft engines. These beasts were used in WWII aircraft, including the P51 Mustang. REAL American muscle! Here's a YouTube link to a startup: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q0VAEBMnBTk
What's with the 24 exhaust header pipes?

I know they're Allisons, did you know that only the prototype P-51 and a few early P-51 Apache variants had the Allison engine? The engine in the "famous" P-51s (B variant and on) was the Rolls Royce Merlin.

The P-38 Lightning however did use the Allison as did the Airacobra.

The Quad-Al actually still exists although it's just a rolling chassis now because the cost of replacement engines for it is simply staggering, when the car was originally built you could pick up a used military surplus Allison for next to nothing.
