It wasn't all that much when I went there for the ALMS race last year. Totally worth it.

Nice try.

It's not expensive at all when you get in for free as crew, sleep in the race trailer and bring your own food and propane grille. Biggest expense of the weekend was the gas to drive back and forth.

I'd love to see one of those events sometime, I haven't seen a professional race at R/A in 30 years since CART had to make up a rain cancelled race on the same weekend as the vintage race.

It was pretty sweet. It was actually my first time hearing all the LMP, Aston Martin and BMW V8 cars going around a track. I nearly passed out from the lack of blood flow. Plus, I got to ogle the Deltawing.

The first morning I was there, we went to the concession stand at turn 2 to watch the Porsche Cup qualifying. The pack came around turn 1, someone lost it and took out 5 cars. On the first turn of the first lap of qualifying. I would not want to be that driver.

Hard to beat Road America as a venue for any race series, so many different spots to watch from.

Did you check out Thunder Valley (Canada corner) when you were there?

Were you there for the hillclimb? My dad was there, said he had a good time although the road surface left a bit to be desired.
