I picked up a set of 17x7 et40 wheels and am wondering if 205/40/17 tyres will work on my SVT without rubbing. Will I need to roll my fenders at all? I'm rocking stock suspension. Tried posting this on FJ but they wont let me post anything for some reason so I am asking here.

I'm kind of a n00b when it comes to the whole offset/stance scene so cut me some slack

Well, I've got a set of 17x8 et40, and they only rub on hard bumps. You should be fine with an extra 1/2 inch on inside and outside than I'm running.

Fitment pic for reference:

That's with a mildly stretched 225/45/17 tire.
