Car: 2008 VW GLI

Heads up to anyone intending to replace control arms/balljoints....have some drillbits handy, pinch bolts do not come out easily.

I hate road salt.

Just buy the control arm from Steve. Way easier and no hassels.

Oh, the control arm was fine, the pinch bolt was rustwelded to the knuckle.

All the other bolts came out beautifully, that's the joy of a good 18v cordless impact.

That's it, you can get a Wal-mart special for under $30.00 and it'll get those out of there in no time. 8)

I had the same issue when I replaced my control arms. Spent an entire day JUST on the pinch bolts using every tool known to man, including an air hammer. At the end of the day all I wound up using was a bottle of MAP gas and a BFH, came out like butter
