... and the 1998 Camaro SS kills the 2011 Mustang GT --> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G2fo3KHu ... r_embedded
Figure somethings done to the catfish, but doesn't sound like a whole lot.

I'll have to watch that once I get home but there's no way a stock 1998 Camaro is going to beat a stock 2011 Mustang.iminhell wrote:... and the 1998 Camaro SS kills the 2011 Mustang GT --> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G2fo3KHu ... r_embedded

From what I can find a stock '98 SS would have been 305hp and 3500 pounds.
The 2011 Mustang GT is rated at 412hp and is around 3600 pounds and in dyno testing they've been shown to have quite a bit more than 412 hp.
If the '98 SS beat the '11 'Stang it's got to be heavily modded.

That SS walked the 5.0 easily. There's more to that SS than meets the eye. Either that or the Stang driver sucked ass.iminhell wrote:... and the 1998 Camaro SS kills the 2011 Mustang GT --> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G2fo3KHu ... r_embedded

K saw the video and one I wouldn't say the SS walked him but he did beat him.
I still stand by what I said before, no way a stock '98 SS stands any chance against an '11 GT 5.0.
Could certainly be that the 'Stang guy couldn't drive and anyone that thinks a brand new car that hasn't been broken in will rev properly has never owned a new car.
Even so, there's more to that SS than they're letting on, why no underhood shots and why the loud AC/DC so we couldn't hear either cars exhaust?

Confusing as hell isn't it. That catfish doesn't look like much at all, dingy headlights and stock rims. SOB moves out pretty good though ... and with basically nothing done by the sounds of it
and if I'm digging through the comments right this is the Mustang that raced --> http://www.youtube.com/user/lankness#p/ ... IZNEz9b-EI
and the owner of both cars it would sound like.
YT user name: P3OPL3SH3ROThe owner of the mustang in this video also owns the camaro. The camaro is stock except for a LID. The mustang also had a 250lb passenger riding along and traction control was on. (owner didn't realize how to turn if completely off at the time of that race) The mustang also has 3.31 gearing versus the 3.73's that the cars in the mags tested with. I hope this clears some confusion up.

I'm gonna guess that the SS gearing, even stock is much more in tune with drag racing. I will also guess that those stock tires on that stang didn't help at all. The SS stock is more like a 330 hp. I would guess that LS1 had something done, even a tune and intake would do wonders and wouldn't be very noticeable.

and for all we know it could have spray. The idiot (being they're both his cars and he was driving the 5.0) could have purposely driven shitty. Plus you can hear the stang hit the rev limiter after they start.
