Maybe we could do a cold weather meet and someone could bring a plow and make up a little ice track!

That's my son driving :)

How about the last weekend in February for this? Should give everyone enough time to get the day off, Saturday or Sunday?

Right-on, Steve!

Bring your son and the ATV...

I saw one vote for Sunday. I could do Sunday, as well. IF there were a plowed oval, I WOULD do a time trial type thing, no other car on at the same time... that'd be fun for shitsngiggles. Top speed MIGHT top 20 with really good wintertreads or (if anyone had them) studded...

UPDATE:

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but...

I drove out onto White Bear Lake today, and it is completely rutted. I spent a good half hour, maybe more just bumping along looking for smoother patches but they seemed pretty impossible to find. Anything lowered would likely hang up or maybe even snag the exhaust. My stock ST did all right, but I wouldn't call it fun by any stretch, just bumping along at a crawl. The only positive for me was teaching Kristina how to drive the five speed (up to 2nd gear, anyway).

Big Boy posted info about ice-racing in Lindstrom for this upcoming weekend...that would be fun to see, little modded ice-racers properly set up for the ice tracks. And, if there is to be a meet at the end of February, maybe that lake would be ideal... (Steve?)
Big Boy wrote:I thought I'd just toss it out there in case anyone's looking for something fun to do this weekend. On Saturday some friends and I are heading to Lindstrom to watch some ice racing.

That looks good. I wouldn't mind seeing the Audis, but I would dig it even more if we found a lake available for OUR use as well... maybe when that event ends? Whatever, really. Somebody said food... so I'm in (and, in pot-luck fashion, I'll bring something to share).

It's not just Audis, they welcome any make and model. I'm thinking whoever wants to run can run, and whoever doesn't can just watch.

It isn't wheel to wheel like the IIRA race, more of an "ice autocross".

^^^Copy that...

I won't be one to spend $60 to run it, but if that's to be our official meeting-place,
then I will be there at the suggested time...

Well, if we find our own area to run, I DO have my truck and tow chains. Also, we could always look at the St. Croix River. There are a lot of places to get on it, and there are always roads crossing from MN to Wisc.
Let me know, cause long distances are bad for the truck. lol. I would like to not spend my life savings just going to a meet. lol.

We could turn the quattro club thing into a separate get-together. I'd like to go to one of those events, depends if i get my new shocks & struts installed and the e brake working.
