Rob- I painted them a while ago. Did a horrible job on them though. I didn't clean all the wax off so it's fish-eyed a bit, lol. I plan on getting some cheap ebay ones later this year and painting over them again.

I was thinking about just that after I got the new bumper cover on and stood back for a good look. I'll admit I was really starting to convince myself but the only thing, other than lack of funding for a complete re-spray, is that I think the flat black scene is just a tad too gimicky for me. Even though it has technically been around for a long time in the hot rod scene, I think flat black on a modern car will go the way of spinners, altezza taillights, and Crystal Pepsi.

i loved crystal pepsi. i wish i had a time machine. go back and get some crystal pepsi and texas grill fritos.....
I liked Crystal Pepsi too! There were chips from around the same time called Pizzarias that were 1000 times better than Doritos. So if you get that time machine someday I'll need a couple favors if you land in the late 80's/early 90's:
1. 20 bags of Pizzarias
2. 1 case Crystal Pepsi
3. $10,000 worth of eBay
Thanks
CAR UPDATE:
My Focus is back at the dealership again for their third attempt to nail down the engine ticking. I'm not complaining though because they're being really good about it and they gave me an '08 Focus to drive in the meantime. They're thinking now that it's either the intake manifold (there are moving parts in there?) or a connecting rod
Also, I went up to Tousley and picked up some SVT brakes. Goodbye worn pads and wibbly-wobbly rotors!!!!!

The texas grill Fritos had grill marks on them. They remind me of summer, when we used to fire up the barbecue and throw down some Fritos. I can still see my dad with the apron on. Better flip that Frito, dad, you know how I like it.
i hope they get it this time, you should upgrade their fly by wire in the 08.....
there are moving parts in the intake mani. can't remember what they are called. they're like little flaps hookewd up to some vacuum thig behind the TB. when does the ticking happen? how offten? like with the motor?
