It's in Little Canada, just South of 694 and Rice st.

It really should be a pretty decent place for everone to get to and it has a relatively easy access point that I also have to check out to make sure we can get out there easliy.

The little red circle is the public access ramp.

I haven't seen much snow on the ice for the lakes I've seen. I read that the ice isn't as thick as it should be for how cold it has been. Partially due to the large amount of snow we got or something.

Thats why we're waiting a bit, I want to be sure there are no problems with ice thickness.

Yeah, the snow actually acts as an insulator, and slows ice formation. I would suggest Mid January, so we can get a good 12" plus of good ice.
Let's go boating.

All are welcome, This is still something I want to do but i'm still giving the ice time to thicken.

Keep watching for future news.

I was up north over the weekend fishing Upper Red Lake and Lake of the Woods where everyone was driving half ton trucks now. The ice thickness up there was between 12-20" depending on snow coverage so its sort of hit or miss. I don't think we have nearly that much ice here in the cities yet.

The ise is very different this year at my cabin lake "Wakenabo" the ice was ranging from 3" to 10" about 2-3 weeks ago. That lake is 150 miles strait north from the cities so you have an Idea.

40 degrees today. That is not helping anything ice wise!

True, but I did see a full size pickup and a car on the ice on that lake just south of 94 near White Bear Ave. That was on Saturday.
