I've got a pretty good set of pics on Focaljet in the suspension area showing the before and after on my 06' ZX3 on Fords FRPP kit. Makes a whole lot of difference but isn't too low for a year round DD in my opinion.aaron_bliss wrote:yea, super low would suck, I have kids so I don't want then to hate my car and I don't want to myself.
I want y'all to know that I really do appreciate this help. This is great, it really is, thank you.
so I did some hunting and I found this....
these would be choice because they show you how low you go but I also like the pro-kit. The thing is, its really spendy.

(you may need to copy and paste into a browser on the links)
I also found the Moog Cargo Progressive rate springs, they seem to be good based on a suggestion by focinite and they are in my price range...

My biggest issue is my lack of knowledge. the questions burning in my mind are to start, I really want something clean and cool but to stand out a bit, clean is how I want this car to be. I am going to start by lowering just a bit, nothing to drastic but I want it to be noticeable for sure and I have no clue how to choose
see this link...

the sportline looks Sharp! but , how do I know how low that is or if its to much, maybe you guys have some pics and can tell how low you went? the sportline looks low but the tire shown looks like its about a 45 and that is not a Minnesota tire is it?
again, I know that dealing with noobs can be a pain and you guys have been very cool helping me, thank you. If I get annoying let me know.

ok... so I got it now!!!
Awsome 2005 black zx3 SES loaded, it came with brand new tires american raidials/american platinum 205/50r16 (no clue if thats any good or not)to be honest im not even sure how long tires last really. I wanted 45's but 50's are what I got.
so there isnt a point in buying new ones till next summer I guess. I was real lucky to find one with 25k miles, sun roof, the standard alloy's (16's I think) but when I measure it looks like 17's ?
?
anyway, I got it, first thing im planning on doing is the drop in a few weeks so if anyone in the IGH area is interested in helping out...
thanks again to you all for helping out while I was on hold for my new car.

just be happy this isn't the vibe, you'd be flamed to death by now.
Even though lowering ruins the ride quality a bit it isn't so bad. I'll have my car on the road again soon and I'm downtown all of the time so I'd be happy to take you for a quick spin in it. I'd recommend getting the svt springs / struts from Steve (FORDSVTPARTS), it's a cheap setup and the ride is decent as well.

ya lowering it will be sweet, and you said you like the wide body look, the only wide body i know about for the 05 body style is the RS wide body found at f2 focus. it looks amazing! like everyone said, alot of work though, will be worth it in the end though.
P.S. should have gone with the manual anyways, it only takes a day or so to learn by urself. i learned by driving mine home after i bought it

I have basically the same year/model stock focus as aaron's cept' mine's 5spd and silver. it'll be very interesting to see what he does to his car so I can learn a lot from it too.(i'm just as new as aaron or possibly worse than him) when it comes to knowledge about performance since I've only done extremely simple basic bolt-ons like SRI's and Catback exhausts..
welcome arron!
