As part of ongoing preventive maintenance, I want to remove the front door panels, inspect the interior-bottom of the doors, and spray some sort of anti-rust stuff on the inside. A cupla questions:
1) How do you get the inside rearview mirror covers off?
2) Any door panel removal tips?
3) Any suggestions re: rust inhibitor/encapsulator? I was thinking of using Eastwood Rust Encapsulator Silver (I have a silver car :D ): http://www.eastwood.com/eastwood-rust-e ... ilver.html
Thanks!

Nothing tricky I remember about taking the panels off.

The mirror covers just pop off, they're held on with spring clips.

If the bottom seam of your door is rusting it's not from inside the door, it's due to the stupid mud blocker seals on the bottom of the door. Best bet is to remove the seals, wire brush the rust and hit it with rust neutralizer, you'll likely have to do it a few times.

I left the mudblockers off mine for good, all they do is trap moisture in the area of that seam.

I did check inside my doors and they were clean and dry inside, no sign of rust at all.

By "mud blockers", do you mean the straight, rubber gasket strip along the bottom of the door?

That's the one, it might as well be called a rust starter weatherstrip.
