Re: Front License Plate (or lack thereof)

Frickin' jinx :? Got pulled over for no front plate and tint twice today. Ticket for the plate, warning for tint. I'm not changing either. But my speedo must be off. Read 65+ (55mph zone) and no mention of speed either time. Funny part is the other car, the front tabs are 4 years old. Not a single L...

Re: FRIM on ebay

^That.

I was lucky enough to get the best deal in the world on mine. Honestly I'd of paid $400 for this one W/O batting an eye.
If you're going for power, it's nearly a requirement.

Re: i knew better!!!!!!!

You have to be hopeful for your kids, they claim. Seems it's a situation where you have to ware 2 faces. One that is confident with them at all times, in that you have taught them well enough that they will make competent decisions that are for the best. The other you share with your spouse, concern...

Re: [shifty eyes] "Fun" project?

If it's a lifelong MN car, avoid it. The underbody will be rusty as all hell. It's tougher to swap in a Z/Dtec than you might think. There's no way to do a direct swap. Differnt car MFG altogether, Festiva/Aspire were made by Kia. That means custom everything, CV's, cradle, mounts, harness, etc, etc...

last 2, That's my cure-all also ... problem is I'm running out of new stuff ... probably a sign of how bad the 'times' really are. Fuck. I haven't seen too much really screwed up stuff. The things I have were just links people posted and my dumbass clicked, one that comes to mind are the execution v...

Re: Crapola From WIX????

You mean to tell me you have one that hasn't bee violated? Jim, How did you figure surface area? By your math I'm figuring you just went measured L*W. That is wrong. With a pleated filter you have to figure area is 3D; measure the depth of the pleat times length times the number of pleats. T...

Re: Steering Shaft Bearing/s?

Nor have I. Only reason I can see what it is is I have the column in pieces, covers aren't on it right now. But I can see where the bearing is and it doesn't look like it's meant to be replaced. There are 2 tabs cut through and bent down retaining the bearing. So no wat to just press out and back in...

Re: Steering Shaft Bearing/s?

It moves up-down in the upper shaft tube only. No in-out play; which is what I'd think the pinch bolt would allow. No play in the tilt lock mechanism, that I can see/measure. Like I said though, it's not bad at all and if I weren't looking for something to fix you'd never know there was a problem. D...

Steering Shaft Bearing/s?

Anyone ever replace them (doubtful)? Steve, Does Ford even list the parts? New car seems a bit loose and I don't want to tear into it W/O doing a bit of research first. If I FUBAR one trying to press it off I need to know I can repair it somehow, by not replacing the whole column. I'm guessing I'll ...
