Re: What did you do this weekend?

I spent most of the day yesterday working on a Hyundai Sonata that stood in at the last autocross event as the Top Gear Reasonably Priced Car. It got 90 runs put on it in a single day, so we figured we owed the owner some maintenance.

Re: Need to borrow a spring compressor

I have a double set that sits on the outside or inside of the spring i think. Those won't work on the rears. You need the internal ones with a single screw. I'll give it another shot with the ones I've got, but I'm not holding out too much hope. I did find one report of somebody getting a set at th...

Re: Need to borrow a spring compressor

I did take it apart and put a big spacer in there, but with the arms as far to each end as I could get them, the blocks were only about an inch apart. The arms are just plain too long. I've seen pictures of the ones with a pair of plates that go over the coils, but I couldn't find those for under $2...

Need to borrow a spring compressor

I finally got an internal spring compressor so I could install the SVT rear springs I've had for about 5 years and found out the one I have won't work. Anybody have one I could use? I really don't want to get another one and all the ones I've seen for rent are the same style as what I've got.

Re: Damn, I've been gone for a while

Regarding formality, You misunderstood. I meant if the participants are talking about classes of cars, the races themselves are more formalized then the Amery autocross, where anything runs. There are no classes. There isn't any worrying if a modification is going to put you in a class that you are...

no , what powers the seats is the fact that they (ford) cheated us out of the (to me) the sexiest hatch since the 205 abarth. the c30 euro and the 500 version had to be the best i have seen in my life time short of the cossie escorts. then they give us and the world this slim hollywood cosmetic sur...

Re: Build your ST

It bugs the crap out of me that you can't get the highest option package with cloth seats. It's like they think the leather is what powers the Sync module or something.

I'd rather just tell them the pitting makes it unsafe because it reduces visibility when driving into the sun. No fraud necessary.

Re: Damn, I've been gone for a while

You have to be logged in to see your link. By just scanning the forums, it looks pretty formal. ...talk of what class you car is and what have you... That's weird. I'll hit up one of the moderators to have that fixed. If that forum looks formal to you, I don't know what to tell you. People ask ques...
