A Volkswagon Type 3, I believe. What a POS!!!!!!!!!!! Kind of funny how that works isn't it? Look at the values of old Mopar muscle cars, they may have been fast but even when they were new they were crap, the interiors fell apart and they rusted faster than anything on earth. -Steve Yes, but at le...

For as often as I will be working on the rear brakes (rare as hen's teeth), I hate to invest in the elaborate tool (I don't have Steve's money!). Will the 'cube' work acceptably?

Thanks! I (obviously) didn't know that. I'll get the correct tool for the job and take it from there.

Rear Brake Replacement: No Success

I was going to replace the rear brake pads on the SVTF, and discovered that I was unable to compress the piston on the left side (the only side I tried). I did not disconnect the brake line, so I would be simply pushing the fluid back into the reservoir. I've done this successfully with other cars ...

Re: Sunroof Tilt Issues

I FINALLY got around to fixing this yesterday. After disconnecting the battery, I was able to re-initialize the sunroof. It's all good.

Speaking of '61s, http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y171/FORDSVTPARTS/196120Plymouth20012010r8.jpg I don't know what Chrysler was thinking in the early 60's, but some of their designs were pretty bazaar (also check out the 1961 Dodge). I believe they referred to the style as “forward flare”. Whateve...

Re: Member Gallery v. 2012

Arggh! Blast the car dealers for putting their stupid dealer emblems on the back of every car they sell. That can really ruin the appearance of a nice car. California doesn't do this. The dealers simply use license plate frames, which aren't 'appearance spoilers'. Interestingly, Inver Grove Ford us...

Re: Need A Dependable, Commuter Car

What's the price range? Great question. Here's some more info: 1) Price: Prefer under $5k, but could go higher for the right car. 2) Mileage: Prefer something wth low miles, but again, would entertain higher mileage cars (for example: I once considered a high mileage van that was driven exclusively...

Need A Dependable, Commuter Car

Like it says. My son had a run-in with Bambi, and his old Civic is totaled. Anyone have a good, dependable, commuter car, or know of a good one somewhere?

Re: Sunroof Tilt Issues

I would assume you tried running the procedure again? Did you try disconnecting the battery to reset the electrics? Yes, I tried the procedure again, but it does not re-initialize as it should and only moves in tiny increments. No, I haven't disconnected the battery. I will attempt that tonight (be...
