Tire Recommendation: 04 SVTF

Like it says. 215-45 17 is the size. Currently have Continental Extreme Contact DWS All season. These have been great tires, but aren't lasting as long as I would like. My requirements: - Long-wearing - Excellent handling & responsiveness - Must be quiet!!!! - Great wet traction - I have winter...

WTB: Need 215-45 17 Tires For My SVTF *****CANCELLED*****

Like it says. I have three good Continental Extreme Contact DWS. Need a replacement (same tire), or possibly 2 tires (same or different).

CANCEL: I bought one used Continental Extreme Contact DWS to complete the set of three that I have (good enough for one more season).

Speaking of four engine dragsters, how about Quad-Al? Those are Allison V-12 (model V-1710) aircraft engines. These beasts were used in WWII aircraft, including the P51 Mustang. REAL American muscle! Here's a YouTube link to a startup: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q0VAEBMnBTk What's with the 24 e...

Show N Go License plate holder, you can get one on ebay.
Is there a decent place to mount this on the SVT Focus? The SVT bumper and dam are pretty flimsy; i.e.: almost no support at the bottom.

Front License Plate (or lack thereof)

Okay, I haven't had my front license plate installed for a few years now, on account of it ruins the appearance of the car. Did I mention that it ruins the appearance of the car? I got stopped yesterday for - you guessed it - no front plate. Fortunately I got off with an admonition to install the p...

Re: Auto show

I can walk 60 feet and crawl all over the inside of a $120k Audi AND play with all the gadgets but I can't sit in a Focus? Some years ago (2005?) I attended the LA Auto Show. Not THAT's an auto show. Displays by Porsche and Maserati (to name a couple) were larger than the Ford or GM displays here. ...

Re: Crapola From WIX????

You mean to tell me you have one that hasn't bee violated? Jim, How did you figure surface area? By your math I'm figuring you just went measured L*W. That is wrong. With a pleated filter you have to figure area is 3D; measure the depth of the pleat times length times the number of pleats. ...

Re: Delivery drivers needed

Tousley is looking for drivers so if you need work, have a clean driving record and can pass a drug test you should fill out an app. Well, fortunately I am currently employed. And I do have a clean driving record, but I'm not sure I could pass the 3rd requirement. Growing up (but definitely not mat...

Re: Crapola From WIX????

The volume of airflow into your intake manifold with the supercharger is drastically limited the the size of your throttle body. I am not and engineer but I highly doubt that small amount of foam covering that corner will effect airflow. I am sure there is a some sort of formula you could find for ...

Crapola From WIX????

I use WIX filters exclusively, 'cause they have an excellent reputation, and I can get them for a good price. In December, I opened a new air filter for my SVTF, and found the following: http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/zz189/oldoutboardjim/WIXAirFilter_zpsf0b36451.jpg I contacted WIX via their w...

Oops, should have posted that my son ended up with a '97 Mazda Protege with low miles. Great MPG, but I think my starter motor has more guts than his engine (85 HP or some such) . Decent car, though.

Re: Tuning my 2007 ST Stage 2

Here's the problem.... FSWerks only has lifetime tuning if you are the original purchaser of the kit... They want to charge me $400 for the tuning, and I need to buy a $200 wideband too for them to be able to do it. So it will cost me $600 to have fswerks email tune my car. You should be glad it is...

Re: transmission flushes?

Regardless of Doc's opinion about Taurus', there are several schools of thought re: transmission flushes. Keep in mind that it is difficult to totally flush a transmission (including the torque converter). Since there is no good way to drain all of the fluid, you need to have a lengthy flush to get...
