Re: cylinder head install plus other parts install/g2g
yup yup, I got her running the next day. And I only had to grind two buckets down. She still a little rough, I haven't messed with the cam timing much yet, but about two weeks later I hit a chunk of ice and gashed a giant hole in my exhaust and broke my flex-pipe and two hangers. I just can't seem t...

Re: Cylinder head coating
well I got the coating done at MAPerformance, cost $275 for coating the combustion chamber, exhaust runners and all the valves. The coating seemed to be a little rougher than I've seen elsewhere, and also seemed a little thinner than I've seen elsewhere, but I'm not sure if that's good or bad or eve...

Re: Balljoint warning
I had the same issue when I replaced my control arms. Spent an entire day JUST on the pinch bolts using every tool known to man, including an air hammer. At the end of the day all I wound up using was a bottle of MAP gas and a BFH, came out like butter

Re: cylinder head install plus other parts install/g2g
So it is at your dad's again. I should be there, at least I'm planning on it ... being you kinda rescheduled around my schedule it's only right, right. LOL Good stuff. If you do make it do you think you could bring your dremel again? Just in case we have to do some more "clearancing." I'v...

Re: cylinder head install plus other parts install/g2g
the address is 4342 Chowen Ave N, robbinsdale. My phone number is 6 1 2 - 5 5 8 - 1 8 9 4 Coming from St Paul you;d take 94W to 394W to 100N. Take the france ave exit, right on top of ramp. Left on 45th, and then the second right onto chowen. The sign for chowen ave can be tricky to see, so it's the...

Re: possible cylinder head install plus other parts install/g2g?
FWIW, Brad says he may want to buy that head back. That would be a good fall back if I feel it necessary. I'm still up in the air as for what to do with it. It really is a good head, it's just been a pain and I'm tired of working on it. I might hold on to it for down the road and see if I can't get...

Re: possible cylinder head install plus other parts install/g2g?
Okay, due to scheduling issues for me and others this weekend is a no go. I am going to set a hard date of Feb 19th (Saturday). Anyone who can join is welcome. Thanks again.

I've got all the tools necessary, although Having something to make swapping the valvetrain easier would be nice.

Re: possible cylinder head install plus other parts install/g2g?
Bad news, for me anyways. Despite having the head for two weeks and guaranteeing me they would have it ready this week, I was just told it wouldn't be ready until next tuesday (Feb 1st). Going to have to reschedule. I hope this doesn't majorly affect anyone who was planning on coming, but it's out o...

Re: possible cylinder head install plus other parts install/g2g?
Yes both are Pro-M. Running the 24# right now (which I found brand new), E-85 and it don't seem to work as I wanted, stays real lean, no detonation though. Did you get a controller for the wideband yet? yeah, i got it finally. And we settled on the 29th (Sat). Don't know what time everyone else fee...

Re: possible cylinder head install plus other parts install/g2g?
Well technically it WAS running well. In between tensioners snapping off that is. It just didn't drive in a manner I can deal with. I used to own a 90 fox body with a REAL aggressive NA setup, so I'm no stranger to difficult to drive vehicles, this just seemed a little absurd to me. With the livewir...

Re: possible cylinder head install plus other parts install/g2g?
well with the cam's tuned and a generic sct tune i hit 159hp and 136tq at about 6800rpms and I started going lean from there but because it took so long to build torque it was pretty much undrivable under 3500rpms. Everything I've read has shown or stated that the FR head, even with a little porting...
