Re: Suspension in progress...

I'm sorry guys, I've failed you. It took me four days, but I got the front end buttoned up, bled the brakes, put the tires on and dropped it down last night. This morning i jacked up the rear end, and noticing there was even more rust there than the front I said screw that, dropped it back down and ...

Re: Suspension in progress...

Actually, nvm. The nut flares out real wide at the bottom, the nut breaker wouldn't be able to do it. Honestly I'm about an hour away from saying f it and calling a damned mobile mechanic in the morning

Re: Suspension in progress...

I haven't tried heating the nuts themselves yet, just the bolts from the bottomside. I'm a little weary if sticking a torch on the topside because of what looks to be fuel lines and other stuff. When I bent the breaker bar I had a 3.5' extension so it was about 4' total. That nut breaker, if it isn'...

Re: Suspension in progress...

Thanks, but not those bolts. You have that horizontal bolt that goes through the bushing, which came out fine, and then the two vertical bolts on the other side of the arm. The outside one closer to the wheel also came out fine, but I just bent a breaker bar on the one farther in. :?

Re: Suspension in progress...

The inside bolt on the lca's, can I grind the bolt head down and push them out the top?

Re: Suspension in progress...

This getting beyond rediculous. After getting the knuckles out I got all the strut hardware moved over to the eibachs and then got to work on replacing the ball joints. Ground out the bottom and tried to pound them through but they wouldn't budge, so going off someone elses advice I ground the tops ...

Re: Suspension in progress...

I love you all!! Holy hell that was harder than it should have been. So, now that my ball joints are thouroghly torched, what's the best way for me to get my moogs in there? Should I take the lca out to work on the rivets or can I just do it in place? I'm guessing I just have to grind one side down ...

Re: Suspension in progress...

I'm about to get back into it using all your advice. If all else fails would it be a good or bad idea to grind off the end of the bolt, whip out the drill set and just drill it out like that? I've got all the replacement hardware I just don't want to cause anymore damage than I already have

Re: Suspension in progress...

Alright, so I've been hacking away at these bolts on the knuckles that clamp the ball joints in for a day and a half now. Heat gun to get it nice and warm, pb blaster and an air hammer and neither side is budging at all. Wtf do I do now... any ideas? also, as I'm now a day and a half behind schedule...

Suspension in progress...

Picked up an Eibach kit with sway-bars and all three FSWerks stress-bars some time ago and finally found the time to start the install this week. Sooooo.... After nine hours, four snapped bolts, cuts and scrapes on just about every finger, exploding brake fluid and my eyes swelling from rust flying ...
