Re: Spotted Boosted ZX5 North MN dealer
$8K for a 2003? Seem's a bit high for a 7 year old Ford. That, and normally modding a car brings the value down not up, depending on how well it was done. The dealer has no information on the motor at all. :? Just say's "This car is one of a kind. Sport gauges, sun roof, lots of customizing. Yo...

Re: Zetec w/mtx, part throttle surge
The IAC valve can only allow metered air in, no reason for it to surge at part throttle.focinite wrote:id say IAC if its surging.
My guess is to stick with a MAF problem, or possibly the O2 sensor is on the way out.

I would, but I dont want to deal with a dropping valve seat.zurno wrote:aww come on, get one with the SPI and work your magic

Seem's the newer the SPI, the better chance you have of it dropping.

Re: Don't Try This At Home (was: Lower Control Arm Ball Joints)
When I did ball joints on a grand-am I just drilled out the rivit's. The new ball joint's came with bolts.
But I've never seen ball joints on a Focus.

I know the duratec is better then the Zetec. But any thing with a Duratec is gonna be out of my price range.

Re: Turbo/Supercharger options for my ST
yeah. you could get a boosted honda for under $5k. parts are cheap and there's a big aftermarket out there for them. you could prolly have more power then a focus is capable of. and there's a great mn community for them If you could find a clean running Boosted Honda for under 5k, chances are good ...

Wanted dead or alive: Focus
Must be a 4 door with a clean body (does'nt have to be perfect) and working A/C.
5 speed.
Zetec.
Non-working OK. I can pick up and haul.
Blown motor, broken timing belt, blown clutch or any thing like that is OK. 100k+ miles is fine to.

Yep. Parts will even sit and wait in the EGR tube for the new motor to be installed, so it can wreck that one too.FORDSVTPARTS wrote:I've heard about chunks of the valve seat getting blown out into the intake and sucked into the same or a different cylinder causing major issues as well.

Re: New Focus Project
The car just got from the towing company and the only thing it needs is the #3 valve seat. So I am goin to clean it up, fix the head, and do all the recalls that were never done (springs, fuel pump and rear door latch kit) and put it at the bottom of my driveway with a $1700.00 or B.O sign in it an...

Whatever works right? How hard would it be to modify the internal or external wg down to 5ish psi? - Josh I took the spring from my T25 and swapped it with my knock off Greddy-S. Now my BOV works better with the stiffer spring, and the turbo run's 5.5psi with the softer BOV spring. It's a win-win. ...
